Lead Educator / Room Leader - Oak Park Early Learning | Oak Park, VIC
Are you an experienced Early Childhood Educator ready to take the next step in your career?
Oak Park Early Learning is looking for a passionate, confident and dedicated Lead Educator / Room Leader to join our growing team.
We are a purpose-built early learning service that opened in October 2025, with spacious, naturally lit classrooms, direct garden access and a strong focus on creating a warm, respectful and engaging workplace for children, families and educators.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about early childhood education and is ready to take ownership of a room, lead a team and create meaningful learning experiences for children.
About the Role
As a Lead Educator / Room Leader, you will play an important role in the day-to-day running of your room.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading and supporting a team of educators within your room
- Building warm, respectful relationships with children and families
- Creating and implementing engaging learning programs based on children's interests, strengths and development
- Ensuring programming and documentation reflects children's individual learning and the VEYLDF
- Supporting children's wellbeing, inclusion and development
- Maintaining a safe, welcoming and engaging learning environment
- Guiding educators through positive role modelling and mentorship
- Working collaboratively with the Educational Leader and management team
- Communicating professionally and positively with families
- Supporting compliance with the NQF, NQS, policies and procedures
- Contributing to continuous improvement within the service
- Helping create a positive team culture where educators feel supported and valued

⭐ About You We are looking for someone who is:
- A qualified Early Childhood Educator
- Experienced in a Lead Educator or Room Leader role, or ready to take the next step
- Confident leading and mentoring a team
- Passionate about children's learning and development
- Organised and confident with programming and documentation
- Warm, approachable and professional
- A strong communicator
- Reliable, proactive and able to take initiative
- Committed to child safety and wellbeing
- Able to build genuine relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Knowledgeable about the EYLF/VEYLDF and National Quality Framework
Essential requirements:
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis
- Mandatory Reporting training
- Police Check
- Knowledge of Child Safe Standards and the NQF
