About the role
Skeffmac Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Concrete Pump Operator to join our team in Adelaide.
The role will involve operating concrete pumping equipment across a range of construction and infrastructure projects, with shifts available based on project requirements and pump bookings. Hours may vary and can include day, night and weekend work.
As a Concrete Pump Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the pump on various construction sites, working closely with site teams to ensure concrete pours are completed safely, efficiently and on schedule.
The role is an important part of our project delivery, helping ensure each pour is completed to a high standard while meeting site requirements and project timelines.
Key responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate concrete boom pumps in accordance with company procedures and site requirements
- Set up and position the pump safely, taking into account ground conditions, overhead hazards and site access
- Complete daily pre-start checks and report any faults or maintenance requirements
- Operate and monitor the pump throughout concrete pours
- Monitor concrete flow and pumping pressures to ensure safe and efficient operation
- Communicate effectively with linehands, concreters, site supervisors and other site personnel throughout the pour
- Carry out routine cleaning, greasing and basic maintenance of the pump and associated equipment
- Complete required dockets, pre-starts and operational records
- Follow all site safety requirements, SWMS and company WHS procedures
- Identify and respond to equipment issues and troubleshoot minor faults where appropriate
- Maintain the pump, truck and associated equipment to a high standard
What we're looking for
- Current High Risk Work Licence – Concrete Placing Boom (PB)
- Current HR or MR Driver Licence, appropriate to the vehicle being operated
- Current White Card
- Experience operating a range of concrete boom pump sizes
- Strong understanding of concrete pumping operations,
including pump set-up, concrete flow and pumping pressures
- Good knowledge of safe concrete pumping practices and WHS requirements
- Ability to complete daily pre-start checks and identify equipment faults or maintenance requirements
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills when working with linehands, concreters, supervisors and other site personnel
- Ability to work independently and make safe decisions on site
- Reliable, safety-focused and able to take care of plant and equipment
- Flexibility to work day shift, night shift and weekends depending on project requirements
