Be part of a growing, values-led business.About UsFMI Building Innovation is a leading manufacturer and supplier of high-performance glass and building solutions across Australia and New Zealand.Our Melbourne-based Glass Plant is looking for a reliable Dispatch & Customer Service Coordinator to join our team.If you enjoy staying organised, take pride in your work, and want to be part of a down-to-earth, supportive team — we'd love to hear from you.About the RoleAs our Dispatch & Customer Service Coordinator, you'll play an important role in the smooth and efficient running of our day-to-day operations.You'll be a key link between our customers, warehouse, dispatch and delivery teams, helping ensure orders are booked, processed and dispatched accurately and on time.This is a varied role combining customer service, administration and dispatch coordination.
The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and a calm, organised approach — particularly when things get busy.Your duties will include:Managing site bookings and schedulingBooking in all inbound orders upon arrival and following up on any missing or delayed deliveriesCoordinating customer deliveries and pickupsProviding customer service support via email and telephoneCross-checking invoices for accuracyProviding backup support for the Dispatch PlannerIdentifying and flagging orders that are not ready for dispatchAssisting customers with pickupsScanning orders into the SPIL systemAssisting with walk-in sales and customer enquiriesSupporting the wider team with general dispatch and administrative duties as requiredWhat You'll NeedStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsExcellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and prioritise in a busy environmentGood computer skills and confidence learning new systemsA proactive approach to identifying and resolving issuesReliable, punctual and well organisedAbility to work effectively as part of a teamA positive, can-do attitudeNice to have (but not essential):Previous experience in dispatch, logistics, warehousing and customer service experienceExperience working in a manufacturing environmentExperience with dispatch, order management or inventory systemsExperience coordinating deliveries, pickups or bookingsWhat We OfferFull-time position with a well-established, trans‐Tasman businessA varied role where no two days are the sameDown-to-earth, supportive and team-focused environmentOpportunity to develop your skills across customer service, dispatch and operationsBe part of a growing business supplying premium glass and building solutionsYou must be based in Melbourne and have full Australian work rights to apply for this role.No agency referrals, please.In **** we began as Fairview Metal Industries (FMI) originating in Timaru, New Zealand.
