Aevum

Melbourne
Australia-wide | Remote | Flexible sessions | Independent contractor engagement
Aevum is building a modern Australian telehealth clinic to help people feel better, function better and live better.
We believe good healthcare begins with listening.
People deserve the time to explain what has changed, explore the wider picture with a doctor and leave with a transparent, considered next step.
We are looking for two experienced, patient-centred General Practitioners who want to make a genuine difference in people's lives.
You will provide personalised, evidence-informed care across areas including energy and vitality, sleep, recovery and movement, weight and metabolic health, men's health, women's health and healthy ageing.
Aevum is designed around meaningful consultations, clinical independence and appropriate follow-up—not prescription volume.
Every decision regarding assessment, pathology, referral, treatment and prescribing remains entirely with the consulting doctor.
Aevum does not require, direct or incentivise prescribing.
Treatment is considered only where the doctor independently determines it is clinically appropriate.

THE OPPORTUNITY
You will consult with Australian patients remotely through Aevum's digital clinical platform.
Patients complete a structured pre-consultation assessment, giving you useful background before the appointment and allowing consultation time to focus on clinical assessment, decision‐making and what matters to the patient.
Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting structured telephone or video consultations
Taking an appropriate medical history and assessing whether telehealth is suitable
Requesting and reviewing pathology where clinically indicated
Developing evidence-informed, individualised management plans
Prescribing only where independently considered clinically appropriate
Referring patients for in‐person, specialist or emergency care where required
Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records
Providing appropriate follow‐up and continuity of care
Working within Aevum's clinical‐governance, safety and escalation frameworks
For doctors interested in broader involvement, separately paid opportunities may also be available to contribute to clinical pathways, patient experience, governance and the ongoing development of Aevum.
WHAT AEVUM PROVIDES
Fully remote work from anywhere in Australia
Flexible sessions around existing commitments
Structured patient intake before consultation
Pre‐booked appointments and payment administration
Supported digital workflows for clinical records, pathology, electronic prescribing and follow‐up
Administrative and patient‐support assistance
Clear clinical escalation and adverse‐event processes
Independence over all clinical decisions
No prescribing quotas or product‐based incentives
Scope to increase sessions as patient demand grows
INITIAL COMMITMENT
We expect to begin with approximately 4–10 hours per week, depending on your availability and patient demand.
As Aevum prepares to launch, patient volumes will build progressively.
This opportunity is particularly suitable for a doctor looking to add flexible telehealth sessions alongside existing clinical work, with potential to increase involvement over time.
REMUNERATION
This is an independent contractor engagement through your own ABN.
Indicative contractor fees:
$70 per standard 20‐minute consultation
Higher fees for extended consultations
Separate payment for agreed clinical administration, governance, protocol development and other non‐consulting work
The final fee schedule, including the treatment of follow‐up work and other agreed clinical activities, will be confirmed transparently before commencement.
ABOUT YOU
You will have:
Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a medical practitioner
Specialist registration in General Practice, FRACGP, FACRRM or equivalent substantial Australian general‐practice experience
Current professional indemnity insurance that covers telehealth and the agreed scope of practice
An Australian ABN and the right to work in Australia
Strong clinical judgement and a patient‐first approach
Excellent communication and clinical documentation skills
Confidence using digital clinical systems
The ability to identify when telehealth is not appropriate
An interest in preventive health, metabolic health, healthy ageing or personalised medicine
Telehealth experience is highly regarded but not essential.
Most importantly, we are looking for thoughtful doctors who value clinical independence, evidence‐informed care and proper conversations with patients.
