Cali Republic is seeking a Cook or Chef for an additional position at our St Ives restaurant on Sydney’s Upper North Shore. Our menu brings together modern Western cooking and Mexican-inspired flavours. We value consistent food, an organised kitchen and practical teamwork.
The role
- Prepare, cook and present dishes to a consistent standard.
- Follow food safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised kitchen.
- Monitor portions, help manage stock and ordering, and reduce food waste.
- Contribute ideas for menu planning and, where appropriate to your experience, support and train other kitchen staff.
What we are looking for
- At least three years of relevant experience as a Chef.
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent qualification.
- Sound knowledge of food handling and kitchen hygiene.
- The ability to work well with a team during busy service.
- Transparent communication and good time management.
Employment and pay Full-time or casual arrangements are available. Full-time hours are 38 per week, with a rotating roster including weekdays and weekends. Casual hours will be discussed according to availability and business needs.
Full-time salary: $65,000–$75,000 per year plus superannuation, depending on experience and ability. Applicable award entitlements apply. Casual rates will be discussed separately based on experience and the applicable award. Final arrangements will be discussed following an interview and paid trial.
