About the Business

Nikaido Japanese Yakiniku Restaurant is a Japanese BBQ restaurant located in Mascot, NSW.

We offer a wide range of Japanese dishes, including premium Wagyu beef, grilled seafood, sushi and sashimi, rice dishes, noodles, soups, side dishes and desserts.

Due to business growth, we are currently seeking two experienced Cooks to join our kitchen team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a range of Japanese dishes, including BBQ meats, seafood, sushi and sashimi, rice dishes, soups and side dishes, in accordance with restaurant standards.
- Assist with the preparation of premium meats, including Wagyu beef cuts and other BBQ items for the yakiniku menu.
- Prepare hot kitchen dishes such as udon, soba, fried rice, tempura,



karaage and other traditional Japanese dishes.
- Ensure food preparation, portioning and presentation meet the restaurant’s quality standards.
- Maintain hygiene and food safety standards in accordance with Australian food safety requirements.
- Assist with ordering, stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients.
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure effective kitchen operations during service.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment.

Requirements

- At least 2 years of relevant work experience as a Cook.
- Experience preparing Japanese cuisine is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Good knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Strong teamwork and time-management skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays where required.
