OOM Miles Roadhouse is seeking a reliable Cook to join our kitchen team in Miles, Queensland. You will prepare and cook menu items, maintain consistent food quality and support the daily operation of the kitchen.
Responsibilities
- examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
- regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
- preparing and cooking food
- seasoning food during cooking
- portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
- storing food in temperature controlled facilities
- preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
- may plan menus and estimate food requirements
- may train other kitchen staff and apprenticesders promptly.
- Assist with stock ordering and minimise food waste.
Qualification and experience
- 1-3 years of experience preparing and cooking food in a commercial kitchen.
- A commercial cookery qualification is desirable.
