Pappadams Indian Bistro is seeking an experienced full-time Cook to join our kitchen team in Mango Hill, Queensland. We specialise in authentic Indian cuisine and are looking for a skilled Cook with experience in Indian cooking, tandoor preparation and high-volume restaurant service.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, season and cook a wide range of Indian dishes, including curries, biryanis, tandoori dishes and traditional breads.
- Prepare and cook seafood dishes, including fish and prawns.
- Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before preparation and cooking.
- Operate ovens, grills, tandoors and other commercial cooking equipment.
- Portion and present meals consistently according to restaurant standards.
- Prepare meals to meet dietary requirements where required.
- Store food correctly and maintain appropriate temperature controls.
- Assist with menu planning and estimating food requirements.
- Monitor ingredients and assist with stock control.
- Maintain food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards.
- Assist with training and supporting other kitchen staff where required.




- Work efficiently during busy restaurant service periods.

Essential Requirements

- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent relevant qualification.
- Relevant commercial cooking experience.
- Strong experience preparing authentic Indian cuisine.
- Experience with tandoor cooking and Indian curry preparation.
- Experience working in a busy commercial restaurant kitchen.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
