Our restaurant, K.L. Bunga Raya, is located in North Melbourne and has been serving the local community since November 2017. We are well known for incorporating Malaysian flavours, spices and culinary traditions into our dishes, allowing our customers to experience the authentic and diverse flavours of Malaysian cuisine.
As our restaurant continues to grow and serve a strong customer base, we are seeking an experienced Cook to join our team. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining the quality and consistency of our dishes and supporting the efficient operation of our kitchen.
For this awesome opportunity you will need:
- Have at least 1 year of relevant experience in a busy restaurant will be highly preferred. A trade certificate in commercial cookery and/or hospitality management. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Fantastic communication skills. Creative skills to create and suggest new recipes. Sound understanding of food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Check and choose ingredients for cooking each dish on the restaurant menu. Undertake all steps of cooking including measuring, cutting, seasoning, heating and cooling as well as washing and cleaning the ingredients.
Overseas cooking processes to ensure food is prepared and presented correctly. Work with other kitchen staff as well as coordinate and supervise as directed by the chef to ensure food preparation and cooking is effective and completed. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area including ensuring the cleanliness of kitchen equipment and tools. Keep a record of food supplies and kitchen tools and inform the chef when orders need to be placed. Assist with the creation of new recipes and further improve the menu items.

Remuneration: $80,000 per annum (plus 12% superannuation)
