About the opportunity

This role offers the opportunity to help shape and deliver innovative arts in health initiatives that transform healthcare environments across NSW. Working collaboratively with redevelopment teams, artists, health services and communities, you will contribute to the strategic planning and delivery of arts projects that enhance patient experiences, support therapeutic environments, and strengthen connections between health services and the communities they serve.

While the work is delivered within large multidisciplinary infrastructure projects, arts team members are trusted to lead their areas of responsibility independently. The role provides autonomy to develop creative solutions, manage stakeholder relationships, and drive project outcomes, while drawing on the support and expertise of a collaborative team environment.

The Arts Program has a strong commitment to cultural safety best practice, informed by, co-designed and co-created with diverse communities across NSW whose knowledge, creativity and lived experience can contribute to arts projects that foster healing, connection and a sense of belonging within health environments. Applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts workers are strongly encouraged as we continue to build on this commitment and strengthen culturally responsive practice across the health system.

This is a fixed term full-time opportunity for a two-year period. Remuneration will be determined with the successful candidate.

Whilst this position is open to all individuals, it is targeted to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people under section 21 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977,.

Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply and consideration will be given to suitable Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander applicants to promote equal or improved access. Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander applicants must demonstrate Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander status in addition to addressing the selection criterion.

Please note that as Health Infrastructure is an organisation of NSW Health, the successful applicant must reside in NSW, or be willing to relocate if appointed. Regular travel across the State is required of this role.

This recruitment may be used to appoint to similar future roles (ongoing or temporary), or to create a Talent Pool for roles that may arise over the next 18 months.

About you A collaborative and strategic arts qualified, you bring experience delivering empathetic public art or cultural programs with partnerships and diverse stakeholders. With a working knowledge of public art commissioning processes, you can engage and influence others, communicate with confidence, and advocate for creative initiatives within complex environments.

Strong organisational skills, sound judgement, pragmatic and hands-on approach will enable you to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes. The ability to see interdependences between stakeholders, projects and priorities, to think holistically and translate complex issues into practical outcomes will see you thrive in this role.
