About us Digital Wellness builds programs that help people change their health for good. In Australia we run the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet, which has helped more than a million Australians lose weight on a program built on CSIRO science, and in the US we run the Mayo Clinic Diet. This role sits in our Australian team and focuses on the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet. We're a small team that moves quickly, and our members have incredible stories that have mostly never been told on camera.
The role
This is a job where you spend Monday morning in a member's kitchen while she shows you the dinner that helped her lose 30 kilos. By the afternoon, you've turned it into a video that makes thousands of women think, "that could be me."
You'll be our Creator in Residence. You'll come up with the ideas, film and edit them, and get them live across the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet's social channels and paid ads. You'll be accountable for how the work performs, not just for getting it made.
You'll work closely with our marketing team and our Head of Health, who leads our nutritional expertise on camera. You'll own what we make, so we're looking for someone experienced who is comfortable running their own work.
The role has two sides. Some days you'll be behind the camera, getting members and our team to relax and tell their stories. Other days you'll be in front of it as the host. You don't have to be the nutrition expert but we'd love for you to be the curious one who asks what our members are wondering, tries things so they don't have to, and shows what goes on behind the scenes here.
Our audience is mostly women in their 40s, 50s and 60s. They're some of the most engaged people on social media, and most brands barely talk to them, which is a big chance for us. You know what makes them stop scrolling and hit share. You're always across what's happening online,
and you know how to take a trend and make it feel like it was made for us.
We'll give you a clear strategy and the data behind it, but think of it as a starting point rather than a rulebook. We want your ideas and opinions to shape where it goes next. Most of all, we need someone who turns up with good ideas without being asked and then gets them made.
What you'll make
- Content you front yourself, like recipe attempts, questions answered with our experts, walking interviews with members and staff, behind-the-scenes content, and reactive pieces when the moment is right.
- Member stories. Our talent team finds and prepares members from our community of more than 60,000. You'll get the best out of them on shoot day and help them film their own content between shoots.
- New life for footage we already have. We have a library of high-quality brand footage and TV news segments featuring our members and experts, and you'll cut it down into short-form content that works on social.
- Paid ad creative for Meta. You'll turn your best organic ideas into ad variations with different hooks, cuts and lengths so we can test what works.
- Repeatable series and formats that people start to recognise and look forward to.
- Content for our big moments, like the New Year push and campaigns such as our menopause and protein work.
- Publishing across our channels. You'll write the captions, schedule the posts and look after the comments on them.
- A short monthly review of what performed, why it worked, and what you'll do differently next.
Who you are
- You've built an audience on Instagram, TikTok or Facebook, either for a brand, at an agency, or for yourself.
- You're comfortable talking to camera, and you're just as good at getting someone who has never been filmed to forget the camera is there.
- You can come up with an idea, film it and edit it on your own. You're quick in CapCut or similar, and you have a strong eye for how things should look.
- You check performance data and use it to make your next piece better.
- You'll become a familiar face for the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet, so warmth and real care for our members matter as much as your skills.
People should feel they can trust you from the first video.
- You have a strong work ethic and you're highly organised. You plan around agreed shoot days, deliver on time every month and keep a backlog of ideas ready. People also enjoy working with you.
Who this role isn't for
- You'd rather wait for a detailed brief than pitch your own ideas.
- You want to stay behind the camera and never appear on it.
- You're not comfortable filming in members' homes or with people who have never been on camera before.
- You judge your work by how polished it looks rather than how it performs.
Bonus points If you're an Accredited Practising Dietitian or have a nutrition qualification, you could also cover the expert side on camera. That would make you an even stronger fit, but it isn't a requirement.
How we'll work together
You'll work more like your own small studio than an employee on the clock. Each month we'll agree a content plan together, mostly short videos featuring you and our members, plus ad versions cut from the same footage. Outside the shoot days we lock in, how and when you get it done is up to you, and you'll post everything yourself.
You'll have room to experiment with new formats, and you're welcome to use AI tools to speed up editing and captioning, as long as the finished content looks and feels real. You're also free to work with other brands, just not competing weight-loss programs. Busier periods like January will be scoped and paid separately.
How we'll measure success
We'll judge the work on how it performs, not just on how much of it gets made. For organic content, we'll mostly look at how long people keep watching and how often they share or save your videos. For paid content, success means your ads beating our current best performers and earning a place in our main ad set.
We'll agree specific targets with you in your first month, once we have a baseline, and review them each quarter alongside the deliverables.
When something you make really takes off, especially on organic, we'll reward it with a performance bonus on top of your retainer.
To apply
Apply through our short application form by Oct 31, 2026. It takes about 10 minutes, and we don't need a CV.
We'll ask for links to three short-form videos you're proud of, including at least one where you're on camera, and one idea you'd film in your first week that needs nothing but you and a phone. That idea matters more to us than anything else on the form, so have fun with it.
