Based on-site at our Bathurst facility and reporting to the Regional Plant Accounting Manager - NSW, this role supports accounting activities across both the Bathurst and Kelso sites.The role is responsible for supporting cost accounting activities, budgeting and forecasting processes, month-end reporting, financial analysis and maintaining the integrity of standard costing systems.
It offers an excellent opportunity for a finance professional, recent graduate, or student seeking practical experience within a manufacturing environment.
We are looking for a flexible and team-oriented team player who is willing to support a broad range of accounting and administrative activities.Flexible working arrangements are available, with a preference for three consecutive working days where possible,
although alternative arrangements may be considered.What you will doSupport budgeting, forecasting, month-end activities, product costing (including NPI), and financial reportingProvide financial insight to site operations and identify opportunities to improve business performanceMaintain standard costing accuracy, inventory controls, and balance sheet reconciliationsSupport Bedrock implementation activities and other finance improvement projectsProcess finance transactions and assist with general accounting and administrative dutiesEnsure compliance with financial controls, policies, and relevant legislationCollaborate with stakeholders across the Bathurst and Kelso sites to support operational and financial objectivesAbout youTertiary qualification in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or currently studying towards oneIntermediate skills in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly ExcelStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsGood analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a team environmentPrevious accounting or finance experience will be highly regarded but is not essentialAn interest in developing a career in accounting, finance, or manufacturing operationsA proactive approach to learning and contributing within a fast-paced manufacturing environmentWillingness to undertake a pre-employment medical, including drug & alcohol screeningJob Requisition ID:*****Travel Required:Country:AustraliaSimplot is an equal opportunity employer and encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to apply.
