About the role The Digital Communications & Content Officer develops and delivers engaging, culturally appropriate communications that strengthen WKSNAC's profile, connect members and communities with information, and promote the organisation's programs, services, achievements and opportunities. The role manages digital channels, creates high-quality content and campaigns, supports organisational communications and events, and maintains a consistent, skilled and culturally respectful brand.
Key responsibilities
- Manage WKSNAC's social media channels and maintain a planned, consistent and responsive publishing schedule.
- Create, schedule and publish engaging content tailored to members, community, partners and stakeholders.
- Monitor and respond to approved online enquiries and messages, and promptly escalate sensitive, cultural, reputational or complex matters.
- Maintain accurate and current website content, including news, programs, events, employment opportunities and member information.
- Prepare regular channel insights and campaign reporting to evaluate performance and improve reach, engagement and accessibility.
- Plan, write, edit and produce engaging content for social media, websites, newsletters, publications, campaigns and internal communications.
- Capture and coordinate approved photography, video, interviews and community stories, ensuring consent and cultural protocols are followed.
- Develop and deliver communication, engagement and marketing campaigns for programs, events, consultations, recruitment and organisational initiatives.
- Draft and edit media releases, CEO messages, member updates, speeches, presentations, reports and other corporate communications.
- Ensure all communications respect Noongar culture, intellectual property, cultural authority, community protocols and approved terminology.
About you
- Relevant qualification in communications, marketing, digital media, public relations or related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing organisational social media and digital channels, including content planning, publishing, moderation and performance reporting.
- High-level writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging and audience-appropriate content across digital, print and corporate formats.
- Demonstrated capability in visual content creation and contemporary digital tools, including basic graphic design, photography and video production or coordination.
- Experience developing and delivering communication or marketing campaigns, with strong planning, organisation and deadline management skills.
- Sound judgement and attention to detail, including the ability to manage approvals, privacy, consent, reputational risk and confidential information.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and independently across competing priorities.
- Demonstrated understanding of, and ability to work respectfully and effectively with, Aboriginal people, communities and organisations.
- Current C Class Driver's Licence.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.
