The Opportunity
- Deliver systems engineering activities across the capability lifecycle, supporting the development, integration and sustainment of complex Defence capabilities.
- Provide technical advice and engineering solutions to support project delivery, risk management and informed decision-making.
- Conduct systems safety activities, including hazard analyses, to ensure compliance with Defence engineering and regulatory requirements.
- Review technical documentation, engineering designs and contractor deliverables, providing recommendations to support quality and capability outcomes.
- Support engineering assurance activities by verifying delivered systems meet technical, operational and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with Defence stakeholders, industry partners and multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
- Build strong relationships and communicate complex technical information effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative, knowledge-sharing culture.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering recognised in Australia.
- Experience applying systems engineering processes to complex Defence or aerospace programs.
- Knowledge of Systems Safety, hazard analysis and engineering assurance practices.
- Experience reviewing technical documentation, engineering designs and contractor deliverables.
- Strong understanding of engineering governance, regulatory compliance and risk management.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with government, industry and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to a positive team culture.
- Minimum AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance and Australian citizenship required to be eligible.
