Details: Capital Linen Service (CLS) is a highly successful commercial enterprise within the ACT Government, providing essential linen and laundry services to hospitals, healthcare providers, aged care facilities and accommodation services across Canberra and the surrounding region. Capital Linen Service is looking for a dynamic, hands-on and commercially minded leader to join our senior leadership team as Director Facilities & Assets.

Based at our highly automated industrial laundry in Mitchell, you will take responsibility for the management and strategic direction of more than $60 million in plant and assets supporting a facility capable of processing up to180 tonnes of linen each week. The operation delivers an essential service to hospitals, healthcare providers, aged care facilities and accommodation services across Canberra and the surrounding region.

Leading a small maintenance team, you will combine strong technical expertise with strategic thinking to drive asset reliability, preventative and reactive maintenance, lifecycle planning, capital improvements and the ongoing optimisation of our facility. You will use operational and asset performance information to identify risks, improve reliability and efficiency, reduce costs and help shape future investment decisions.

Working closely with the Executive Branch Manager and senior leadership team,



you will have a genuine opportunity to influence how the business operates and evolves. We are looking for a practical leader and big-picture thinker who is comfortable on the factory floor and around complex plant, but equally capable of providing clear strategic advice, developing business cases and turning ideas into practical improvements.

What you will do In this role, you will:

- Lead and oversee the maintenance and asset management functions of CLS, ensuring plant, equipment and infrastructure are protected, reliable, compliant and available to meet operational and customer service requirements.
- Lead the maintenance team in the effective management of plant and equipment, including engagement with internal and external service providers, to maximise operational performance, asset utilisation and business efficiency.
- Oversee workforce planning and rostering to ensure preventative and reactive maintenance activities are efficiently scheduled, delivered, monitored and reported, supporting operational continuity and customer demand requirements.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

- A minimum of five years’ senior leadership experience in maintenance/facilities/asset management in an industrial setting.
- Recognised tertiary or trade qualification in mechanical, plumbing or electrical fields is highly desirable.
- Industrial atomisation experience and relevant or transferable industry experience (highly desirable).
- Must be able to work weekends, public holidays, out of hours and overtime as required to address business operations.
- Driver’s licence (C class) is essential.
- Experience in computerised maintenance management systems highly desirable.
