About the role An exceptional prospect exists for a visionary hospitality leader to join The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Hobart, as Director of Operations. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will shape every aspect of the guest and associate experience, leading operational excellence across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Culinary and Engineering. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for delivering world-class luxury hospitality while driving commercial performance, associate engagement and owner satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

- Deliver exceptional operational standards across all areas of the hotel

- Champion service excellence, ensuring every guest experience feels intuitive, personalised and memorable

- Maintain a visible leadership presence, fostering genuine connections with guests and associates

- Embed a culture of Genuine Anticipatory Service throughout the hotel

- Use guest insights and performance data to continuously refine and enhance the luxury experience

- Ensure every touchpoint reflects the sophistication and individuality of The Tasman

- Create a high-performance culture founded on respect, accountability and care

- Coach and mentor leaders to achieve exceptional results and cultivate future talent

- Deliver strong financial performance through strategic leadership and disciplined execution

About you

- Proven senior leadership experience within a luxury hotel environment





- Advanced knowledge of all areas of the Food and Beverage operation with a track record of driving operational excellence and business performance

- Track record of delivering exceptional guest satisfaction and commercial outcomes

- Strong leadership, coaching and stakeholder management capabilities

- Ability to translate strategy into execution while inspiring high-performing teams

- Genuine appreciation for personalised service, local storytelling and creating memorable experiences
