Building on our existing data engineering and platform capabilities, you’ll help take WK from strong data foundations through to advanced analytics and AI-enabled decision-making. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the firm, you’ll identify where data and emerging technologies can create meaningful value, while leading a broad remit across strategy, transformation, architecture, governance and capability building.
You’ll be responsible for:

- Keep WK connected to emerging technologies and industry developments, identifying practical opportunities across legal and professional services.
Data & AI transformation:
- Lead the evolution of our data ecosystem, building on existing platforms, architecture and engineering capabilities.
- Progress the firm from data collection and foundations through to actionable insights, advanced analytics and AI-enabled solutions.
- Identify and prioritise opportunities where data and AI can deliver measurable value for our business and clients.
Stakeholder & client impact:
- Partner with legal, technology, strategy and client-facing teams to embed data and AI into how we operate and deliver services.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, practical opportunities and outcomes for senior stakeholders.
- Work with our Advisory team to develop solutions and client platforms that support WK’s defensible AI agenda and broader client offering.
Team & capability building:
- Lead and develop capability across data engineering, analytics and AI, building the skills required to deliver the firm’s strategy.
- Build greater data literacy and responsible AI fluency across the firm through capability and skills programs.
- Create a cooperative setting that supports experimentation, innovation and continuous improvement.
Data governance & architecture:
- Provide strategic oversight of WK’s data architecture, ensuring it remains scalable, reliable and aligned with business needs.
- Establish and maintain strong governance across data quality, privacy, security and responsible AI.
- Oversee appropriate governance for AI and machine learning models across development, deployment, monitoring and ongoing use.
What you’ll bring:
- 5-8 plus years' experience in a senior data, analytics and/or AI leadership role, ideally within professional services, legal or another complex, regulated environment.
- A proven track record developing and delivering enterprise-wide data and AI strategies with measurable outcomes.
- Strong experience leading complex data and technology transformation programs across operational and client-facing environments.
- Broad technical understanding across data engineering, architecture, analytics and AI/ML, including the AI model lifecycle.
- A strong understanding of data and AI governance, including privacy, confidentiality, security, risk and responsible AI.
- Commercial judgement and an ability to turn emerging technologies and technical capability into practical business and client opportunities.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with experience building multidisciplinary teams and influencing at an executive level.
- Familiarity with modern data and cloud environments,
including platforms such as Azure, AWS and Fabric, supported by a relevant tertiary qualification.
