About the Role

We are seeking an exceptionally gentle, reliable, and grounded Support Worker to provide consistent, 1-on-1 support for a female client based in Buderim.

This role requires a practitioner with a deep understanding of complex mental health and trauma-informed care. The client requires a calm, steady presence to support her daily routine, build confidence in community environments, and assist with independent living goals.

Schedule: Approximately 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday (~25 hours/week).

Key Responsibilities

- Trauma-Informed Care & Support: Maintain a safe, predictable, non-judgmental environment. Practice active listening, observe personal boundaries, and support the client's emotional regulation.
- Meal Preparation: Cook healthy, fresh, home-style meals daily to support overall physical and mental health.
- Community Access & Safe Transport: Safely drive and accompany the client to medical appointments, community outings, and local errands across Buderim and the Sunshine Coast.
- Tech & Administrative Assistance: Assist the client with basic technology (smartphones, apps, managing notifications, and ensuring support forms/agreements are accurately signed and submitted).
- Physical Well-being & Mobility: Encourage gentle movement, daily walks, and outdoor activities to promote general fitness and emotional wellbeing.

Key Requirements
- Experience & Expertise:
- Demonstrated experience working with complex trauma, severe mental health,



and/or domestic and sexual violence survivors (DV/SV background highly regarded).
- High emotional intelligence, strict respect for personal and professional boundaries, and patient, calm communication.
- Transport & Driving:
- Valid Queensland Driver’s License with a clean driving record and strong, safe driving skills.
- Reliable, contemporary, well-maintained vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
- Screening & Compliance:
- Current QLD NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Yellow Card).
- Current Working with Children Check / Police Check.
- Current First Aid & CPR Certifications.
- Technical & Life Skills:
- Confident home cook capable of preparing balanced meals.
- Proficient with smartphones, digital forms, and basic admin tasks.
- Good level of physical fitness to support active community engagement.

Compensation & Working Conditions
- Location: Buderim, QLD (local Sunshine Coast shifts).
- Hours: ~5 hours per day (consistent daytime schedule), 7 days per week can be rosered to two workers if needed.
- Pay Rate: SCHADS Award rates ($35 – $45/hour depending on employment arrangement, experience, and level) + kilometer reimbursement for support travel.
