CareProviders is looking for a reliable and experienced male Disability Support Worker to provide individualised support to a male participant in the Newcastle area. This is a casual PAYG employment position with a registered NDIS provider. We are looking for an employee to join our team, not an independent contractor or sole trader.
About the role The role involves providing consistent, person-centred support to help the participant maintain his daily routine and independence. Shifts are predominantly during morning hours.
Your responsibilities will include
- Supporting daily routines and independent living skills
- Providing transport and assistance to attend appointments
- Supporting community access and participation
- Encouraging independence and choice
- Providing calm and consistent support
- Maintaining appropriate qualified boundaries
- Completing shift notes and other required documentation
- Following the participant's support strategies and CareProviders policies and procedures
About you We are looking for someone who is calm, confident,
assertive and dependable. Experience supporting people with psychosocial disability or complex support needs will be highly regarded.
You will need
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Reliable and insured vehicle
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check, where required
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Appropriate Australian working rights
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Availability for predominantly morning shifts in the Newcastle area
Because of the participant's individual support needs and preferences, a male support worker is required for this position.
