About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Draftsman to join our team at our Richmond office on a full-time basis. This is a pivotal position that bridges the gap between design vision and practical execution. You will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for our custom kitchen and wardrobe projects.

We are looking for a draftsman who has proven experience using drawing packages like CAD who is willing to learn and grow their skills in the optimising of kitchens. We will provide the training on the program along with industry skills to achieve the outcome required.

Key Responsibilities

- Produce technical drawings using IT software
- Translate client requirements and design concepts into accurate, buildable plans
- Collaborate with designers and clients to refine designs and address technical concerns
- Ensure all drawings comply with building codes, standards and best practices within carpentry and cabinet making
- Prepare comprehensive documentation including elevation drawings, floor plans, section details and assembly diagrams
- Communicate with workshop teams to provide clarification on technical drawings and resolve any design challenges
- Maintain accurate records and libraries of standard components and design elements
- Review and revise drawings based on feedback from clients, designers and fabrication teams

What We're Looking For

- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD,



SketchUp or similar industry-standard programs with the ability to translate that into Cabinet vision with training
- Strong understanding of carpentry and cabinet making principles, techniques and materials
- Proven experience creating detailed technical drawings and specifications within the trades and services industry
- Knowledge of building codes, safety standards and manufacturing specifications relevant to kitchen and wardrobe installations
- Excellent spatial reasoning and the ability to visualise three-dimensional designs from two-dimensional drawings
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, legible documentation
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across design, fabrication and client teams
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt designs for practical construction and installation
- Experience in the kitchen, wardrobe or custom cabinetry sector is highly desirable
- Relevant formal qualifications or apprenticeship training in carpentry, cabinet making or technical drawing is preferred
