About the role

Austral International is a leading designer and manufacturer of high-quality safety access covers and other associated products for the water and wastewater industries. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Draftsperson to support our sales, operations, and production teams. In this role you will take designs from concepts through to workshop drawings, being part of the process right through to supporting the production team in the manufacturing phase.

This is an important role that contributes largely to the success of our projects and workshop efficiencies. This is a full time role and will be based in Austral's Derwent Park office. You will be working as part of an established, but ever improving and growing team.

Key responsibilities

- Create and revise technical drawings using Autodesk Inventor

- Liaise with customers and the sales team to understand project requirements

- Manage offshore draftsmanship

- Assist fabrication team with any issues that arise during production

- Support product development and continuous improvement initiatives

About you

- Certificate III or IV in Engineering Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline

- Experience using Autodesk Inventor

- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude

- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to confidently communicate with customers, suppliers,



and internal stakeholders

- Australian work rights with the ability to work permanently in Australia

- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- The ability to manage other draftsmen, and multiple priorities and work effectively to deadlines
- A proactive, positive, and team-oriented approach

- Experience in fabrication or manufacturing environments (desirable)

- Knowledge of CNC routing, welding, or manufacturing processes (desirable)
