Qualified driving instructors who are ready to start are preferred, however we are also happy to hear from people considering a career change. We can help you train and qualify as a driving instructor.

Income Potential

One of the main benefits of being self-employed is that you can decide how much or how little you want to work.

As an example, an established instructor completing 30 one-hour lessons per week at $90 per lesson would gross approximately $2,700 per week.

Some instructors choose to complete up to 40 lessons per week, while others prefer around 20 lessons per week to give themselves more time for family and other commitments.

For a new instructor, it generally takes around 3+ months to build a diary of approximately 30 lessons per week. This comes from rebooking existing students, providing good training and building referrals over time.

Income examples are indicative only. Actual earnings will depend on hours worked, availability, student demand and instructor performance.

This is a genuine self-employed business opportunity with relatively low start-up costs, with your own suitable vehicle being the main requirement.

What You'll Need

- Full WA Driver's Licence held for at least 3 years
- Your own suitable vehicle and appropriate insurance
- Current National Police Clearance
- ABN, or willingness to obtain one
- Good communication skills and a reliable, qualified approach
