EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHER
Position: Early Childhood Teacher
Location: Weston Creek Children's Centre
Employment Type: Full-time - 40 hours per week
Salary: $82846.40 per annum + superannuation
About The Role
Weston Creek Children's Centre is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team on a full-time basis.
Weston Creek Children's Centre (WCCC) is a community-based, not-for-profit early childhood education and care service that has been providing high-quality education and care for children from birth to five years for over 45 years.
We have a strong focus on contemporary pedagogical practices and use meaningful, play-based experiences as a vehicle for learning.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, developing and delivering high-quality educational programs that support the learning, development and wellbeing of young children. You will work collaboratively with children, families and other educators to create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, develop and implement educational programs and learning experiences appropriate to the developmental needs of young children.
- Plan and organise learning activities in indoor and outdoor environments using a range of appropriate teaching materials and resources.
- Provide learning experiences that support children's language, cognitive, physical, social and emotional development.
- Promote children's language and communication skills through storytelling, discussion, play, music and other educational activities.
- Observe, assess and document children's learning, development and progress.
- Identify individual learning and developmental needs and adapt educational programs where appropriate.
- Encourage children's confidence, creativity, curiosity, independence and participation in learning activities.
- Establish and maintain positive and respectful relationships with children.
- Communicate with parents and guardians regarding children's learning, development, progress and wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with other educators and management in planning and delivering educational programs.
- Participate in staff meetings, parent meetings, professional development and other activities relevant to the educational program.
- Support the health, safety and wellbeing of children and ensure appropriate supervision.
- Ensure educational practices are carried out in accordance with applicable regulatory, child-safety and service requirements.
Qualifications And Experience To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
- An approved Early Childhood Teaching qualification, such as a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education/Teaching, Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education/Teaching, or another recognised equivalent qualification that enables the applicant to work as an Early Childhood Teacher;
- At least one year of relevant work experience in early childhood education/teaching or a closely related field;
- Sound knowledge of early childhood learning, development and educational programming;
- Ability to plan, implement and evaluate educational programs for young children;
- Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work effectively as part of a professional education and care team; and
- Any required teacher registration, Working with Children Check and other relevant clearances applicable to the position.
