GTES has multiple electrical apprenticeship opportunities available for new starters and existing 2nd, 3rd and 4th-year apprentices.
Current opportunities include:
- Working with a Tier 1 electrical contractor on a major military-base upgrade
- Joining a great local company delivering commercial and industrial electrical projects
- Working with an established multi-trade company specialising in solar, renewable energy, electrical and plumbing services, including regional travel
Whether you are beginning your trade or looking to transfer your existing apprenticeship, these roles offer excellent practical experience while completing a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician.
About the roles
Depending on the position, you could work across commercial, industrial, renewable-energy and major infrastructure projects.
You will work alongside qualified electricians, developing skills in electrical installation, testing, fault-finding and maintenance while following strict safety and quality requirements.
Some positions are based locally in Wagga Wagga, while others involve regional travel, overtime and applicable allowances.

- Strong math's skills and sound problem-solving ability
- Strong practical and electrical skills appropriate to your apprenticeship level
- Genuine interest in building a long-term electrical career
- Robust work ethic, reliability and willingness to learn
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship
- Current driver’s licence and reliable transport
- Construction White Card, or willingness to obtain one
- Willingness to travel for working-away opportunities
- Ability to meet relevant security and site-access requirements
Existing apprentices must be currently enrolled in an Electrotechnology apprenticeship and able to demonstrate sound knowledge and practical skills appropriate to their year level. Why join GTES?
