Details: Transport Canberra is seeking motivated and experienced Electronic Technicians to join our Fleet Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of fleet vehicles, delivering maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and technical support with a strong focus on advanced electronic systems and equipment.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining peak fleet availability by effectively prioritising work activities, troubleshooting complex vehicle systems, and contributing to fleet improvement initiatives. You will also play an important role in modification programs, special projects, and the training and development of apprentices and fellow team members, while actively promoting a solid safety culture.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Relevant trade qualifications and/or industry certifications (mandatory).
- Experience in automotive electrical, electronic systems maintenance, and repair.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills, including experience using modern diagnostic equipment and software.
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- A commitment to safe work practices and continuous improvement.
- Experience within the automotive and/or heavy vehicle industry will be highly regarded.
Eligibility/Other Requirements:
- Drivers Licence (C-class) is mandatory with the ability to obtain a HR class.
- Relevant recognised trade qualifications and or certificates are mandatory.
- Experience in the Automotive/Heavy Vehicle industry is desirable.
- The ability to work rostered shifts, from early morning to late at night including regular weekend rostered overtime.
- A pre-employment criminal history check will be conducted.
- This position requires a pre-employment medical.
