Southern Hills Christian College is a K-12 Christian school inBedfordale, Western Australia, and is part of the Swan ChristianEducation Association. Our staff are all committed Christians, andthis belief is embedded both explicitly and implicitly in ourcurriculum and all that we do.
We are seeking a competent and passionate Dean ofAcademics who can teach SecondaryScience to join our team in afull-time, permanent positioncommencing 1 January 2027.
The Dean of Academics oversees the Learning Areas for Scienceand Mathematics while having a teaching component in SecondaryScience.
This is not just a role; it’s a sacred opportunity to inspireyoung hearts and minds. You’ll lead and teach with purpose andconviction, sowing seeds of faith and learning that will shapelives for eternity.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Lead curriculum excellence, teaching practice, andassessment standards to drive outstanding studentoutcomes.
- Develop, mentor, and inspire staff while fostering aculture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Lead the effective management of resources, budgets, andworkplace safety to support College success.
- Deliver engaging, inclusive learning experiences thatsupport the diverse needs and success of every student.
- Actively contribute to the spiritual, academic, sporting,cultural, and social life of the College community.
- Model Christian values and professional excellence throughongoing learning, growth and adherence to Collegepolicies.
- Demonstrates a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christand is an active member of a Christian Church, living inaccordance with the Association’s Statement of Faith andEducational Objectives.
- Qualified Secondary Teacher with a strong understanding ofcontemporary teaching, learning, assessment and evaluationpractices.
- Skilled in differentiating instruction and leveragingtechnology to meet diverse student needs and enhance learningand administrative outcomes.
- Collaborative team player with excellent communication andrelationship-building skills across students, staff, parentsand the wider community.
- Committed to professional excellence, positive rolemodelling and active participation in the life of theCollege.
- Current Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia(TRBWA) registration and a valid Working with Children Check(WWCC) or willingness to apply.
Desirable SelectionCriteria:

- To have undertaken formal studies in the area of ChristianEducation, attend a Christian College or be familiar withrelevant books and articles on Christian Education.
- To have experience in the advertised position.
- To have experience in using a digital learning managementsystem as a teaching and learning tool.
