Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Engineer role based in the Greater Melbourne Area. The Engineer will support the planning, design, and operation of gas and electricity infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, safety, and compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
Day-to-day activities may include performing technical analysis, preparing engineering documentation, collaborating with project teams, and contributing to asset performance and optimization initiatives. The role involves working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, and external partners to deliver projects on time and within budget,
while maintaining rigorous safety and quality standards. The Engineer will also assist in identifying opportunities for innovation, continuous improvement, and sustainable energy solutions within Jemena’s asset portfolio.
Qualifications
- Relevant engineering degree (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or equivalent) and eligibility for professional accreditation or registration where applicable.
- Experience with utility infrastructure, energy systems, or related engineering environments, preferably in gas or electricity distribution and transmission.
- Solid technical analysis and problem-solving abilities, including the use of engineering tools and software to assess performance, risk, and compliance.
- Knowledge of safety, regulatory, and industry standards in the utilities sector, with a demonstrated commitment to safe work practices.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and engage constructively with stakeholders and contractors.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and support project delivery in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in project engineering or asset management, including documentation, reporting, and participation in design reviews, is beneficial.
- Interest in innovation and sustainable energy solutions, with a willingness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies and practices.
