About the Position The Engineering Technical Officer - Engineering Design provides civil engineering design, drafting, estimating, investigation and technical support for the City's capital and operational work programs. The position supports the Civil Design Coordinator in developing practical,



compliant and constructible solutions for roads, drainage, parking, active transport, street scape and related infrastructure. Key responsibilities include:

- Preparing concept and detailed civil engineering designs, drawings, quantities and cost estimates.
- Coordinating survey, geotechnical investigation and other design input data and services.
- Undertaking site inspections, technical investigations and field surveys.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders, government agencies, service authorities, consultants, contractors and community stakeholders.
- Maintaining accurate engineering plans, records and asset information.
- Providing technical advice and guidance on traffic engineering, active transport, parking management and street lighting matters to internal and external stakeholders.
- Procurement tasks.

To be successful in this position you will need to demonstrate:
- Enrolment or completion of a Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent, or qualifications in AutoCAD Civil 3D with extensive design experience.
- Well developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Well developed computer literacy skills, including competency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Well developed time management and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in the use of civil design packages such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D drafting software.
- Previous experience in road and drainage design in an urban environment.




- Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence.
- A current National Police Clearance.
