About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and committed English Head of Department to join our High School leadership team in a full time position commencing Term 1, 2027. The role provides Christ-centred leadership within the English faculty, leading teaching and learning, developing staff, and fostering a culture of academic excellence, spiritual growth and continuous improvement. As a member of the School's executive team, the Head of Department also contributes to whole-school leadership and supports positive partnerships across the school community.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead teaching and learning within the English faculty.
- Support, mentor and develop teaching staff.
- Promote academic excellence and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to whole-school leadership initiatives.
- Build positive partnerships with students, families and colleagues.
- Support the School's Vision, Mission and Christian ethos.

Essential Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- A personal commitment to the Christian faith and active involvement in a Bible-based Christian church.
- Relevant teaching qualifications, NESA accreditation and a current Working with Children Check.
- Experience teaching English in Stages 4-6.
- Demonstrated educational leadership experience, including leading colleagues to develop and implement quality teaching and learning programs.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum,



assessment and contemporary educational practice.
- The ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to academic excellence, student growth and whole-school improvement.
