The Opportunity
We are working with an established Australian technology company that is making a significant investment into its DevOps and infrastructure capability.
The business operates a substantial privately managed infrastructure environment and is currently going through a major modernisation program, with a strong focus onKubernetes, containerisation and automation.
This role will sit between traditional infrastructure and modern Platform/DevOps engineering.
You'll work across Linux and bare‐metal infrastructure while helping the business continue its move towards a more containerised, automated operating model.
There is also significant investment going intoAI, with the DevOps team responsible for building and operating the underlying infrastructure and platform capabilities that will allow AI to be introduced across the company's product environment.
What You'll Be Working On
Building, administering and improvingKubernetes environments
Supporting the continued adoption ofcontainerised infrastructure
Managing and improvingLinux‐based private cloud and bare‐metal environments
Automating infrastructure, deployments and operational processes usingPython and Bash
Building and improvingCI/CD pipelinesacross GitLab, GitHub and Bitbucket
UsingAnsible and/or Puppetfor configuration management and infrastructure automation
Working across servers, networking, storage and virtualisation
Supporting complex, multi‐component application and platform deployments
Helping reduce reliance on traditional VMware‐based infrastructure
Improving deployment processes with the goal of moving from lengthy manual deployments towards highly automated delivery
Supporting the infrastructure and platform capabilities required for futureAI workloads and applications




Taking ownership of technical challenges and contributing to the continued development of the wider DevOps function
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will come from aSenior DevOps, Platform Engineering, Linux Infrastructure, Infrastructure Automation or SREbackground.
You'll ideally bring:
Strong hands‐onKubernetesexperience within production environments
Experience administering Kubernetes itself, rather than solely deploying applications into managed clusters
Rancherexperience would be highly regarded
Exposure toprivate cloud, bare‐metal or internally managed infrastructure
Strong scripting and automation experience withPython and/or Bash
CI/CD experience, ideally acrossGitLab, GitHub or Bitbucket
Configuration management experience withAnsible and/or Puppet
Understanding of infrastructure acrossservers, networking, storage and virtualisation
Experience supporting complex production environments
Ability to troubleshoot across both infrastructure andapplication/platformlayers
A strong automation mindset and desire to remove repetitive manual processes
