Wild Life Bakery is looking for an experienced Baker to join our bread team. We're a small, retail-focused bakery specialising in sourdough bread, viennoiserie, pastries and excellent sandwiches, with a second location nearby and a growing wholesale offering.
We care deeply about quality, consistency, and using excellent ingredients from local suppliers. This role would suit someone with prior professional baking experience, who enjoys hands-on bread production, works well as part of a small team, and prides themselves on quality output.
The Role
As a Baker at Wild Life Bakery, you'll be responsible for producing our bread doughs from mixing through to baking, following established recipes and schedules while maintaining high standards. You'll work closely with the Head Baker contributing to smooth daily operations.
While we have stable systems in place (recipes, mixing programs, schedules), we also welcome ideas and input from bakers with outside experience who are keen to refine processes and techniques.
This is a daytime baking role — we do not do overnight shifts (with rare exceptions around Easter + Christmas). Start times vary between 3 - 5am.
About You
- Previous professional sourdough baking experience highly regarded
- Comfortable working early mornings and weekends (essential)
- Reliable, organised, and efficient
- A team player who communicates well and enjoys working collaboratively
- Negotiable start date - option to start immediately
- Pay the Award Rates relative to experience
