1. Purpose of the Role

Build high-quality landscape projects for residential clients, builders and commercial clients, working to plans and to the standard K&M; is known for. You'll work on your own or alongside the crew, and may sometimes lead a small team on site.

2. Key Responsibilities

Landscape Construction

- Set out jobs from plans: levels, falls, string lines and measurements
- Excavate, prepare the base and compact for concrete, paving and turf
- Install concrete and paving: formwork, mesh, pouring and finishing (plain, exposed aggregate and coloured concrete, and pavers)
- Build decks, pergolas and other timber structures (merbau, treated pine, composite)
- Build retaining walls from timber sleepers, concrete sleepers and block
- Lay natural and synthetic turf, install garden beds and edging, plant, and spread mulch and toppings
- Install fencing (Colorbond, timber paling, aluminium slat) and gates
- Install irrigation (drip lines and pop-up systems), basic drainage and outdoor lighting
- Install letterboxes, clotheslines and other site fixtures as the job requires

Quality & Site Standards

- Finish work neatly and to plan, so it's ready for client handover
- Check your own work for levels, straight lines and drainage before you call a job done
- Keep sites clean and safe, and leave them tidy at the end of each day
- Look after company tools, equipment and vehicles

Health & Safety

- Follow WHS requirements and site safety rules, including builders' site inductions
- Wear the right PPE at all times
- Report hazards, incidents and near misses straight away
- Locate underground services (Dial Before You Dig) before you excavate

Communication





- Give the Owner daily progress updates, with photos when asked
- Be professional and polite with clients, builders and head contractors
- Raise problems early, such as site conditions, missing materials or changes to scope

Leadership (when required)

- Direct and support labourers on site
- Plan the day's work so the crew stays productive
- Train and mentor less experienced team members

3. Essential Requirements

- At least 2 years of hands-on landscape construction experience
- Experience across most of: concrete, paving, decking, retaining walls, turf and fencing
- Can read landscape plans and set out levels accurately

- Construction Induction (White Card)
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport
- Right to work in Australia
- Physically fit for outdoor manual work in all weather
- Subcontractors also need: an ABN and current public liability insurance

4. Desirable

- Certificate III in Landscape Construction
- Skid steer, excavator or bobcat ticket or experience
- Experience on commercial or builder sites

- Experience leading a crew

Pay: $32.00 – $38.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
