Leading major Victorian public health service is seeking a Facilities Coordinator.

Permanent position

Paying up to $126k super

South Eastern Suburbs Hays is excited to be partnering with a leading major Victorian public health service to recruit a Facilities Coordinator to join their Engineering & Facilities team. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced facilities professionals to play a key role in ensuring critical healthcare facilities are maintained to the highest standards, supporting the delivery of essential services to patients, staff, and visitors across a large and complex healthcare environment.

About the role

This role will oversee the day-to-day coordination of maintenance and operational activities across multiple healthcare sites. You will work closely with engineers, contractors, clinical stakeholders, and facilities teams to ensure compliance, reliability, and continuous improvement across building services and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate day-to-day facilities operations and maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with statutory, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of maintenance specifications, standards, and procedures.
- Provide technical support for the management of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building management systems (BMS), and security infrastructure.
- Coordinate preventative, reactive, and corrective maintenance programs to minimise operational disruptions.
- Monitor maintenance work orders and service requests to ensure timely and efficient completion.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, repairs, and asset registers.
- Manage asset condition assessments and support lifecycle planning and preventative maintenance scheduling.
- Utilise Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to schedule maintenance activities and track performance.
- Liaise with contractors and external service providers,



ensuring services are delivered in line with contractual obligations and service level agreements.
- Assist with maintenance contract administration, procurement processes, and tender evaluations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies across facilities management functions.
- Collaborate with clinical and operational stakeholders to support maintenance works and minimise service impacts.

Key Selection Criteria

- Proven experience in facilities management, building services, or maintenance coordination within a complex operational environment.
- Experience maintaining complex facilities within the healthcare sector.
- Strong knowledge of building systems and the ability to support troubleshooting and maintenance activities across multiple disciplines.
- Experience ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
- Previous experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate minor works, maintenance projects, and asset renewal initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and contractor management capabilities.
- Highly developed organisational and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Trade qualifications or technical certifications relating to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building services, or medical gas systems.
