We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Factory Hand to join our signage production team on a casual basis, approximately 20 hours per week. This role suits someone with good practical skills and an eye for detail – previous experience in the signage industry is not essential, as full training will be provided. We are particularly interested in candidates with a background as a shop fitter or carpenter, as these trades bring the measuring, hand tool and quality skills that translate well into signage production.
Key responsibilities
- Measure, cut, assemble and finish signage components accurately
- Check and assess product quality throughout the production process, identifying and addressing any issues
- Use initiative to keep work moving and flag problems before they become bigger issues
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
- Willing to assist with all aspects of signage manufacturing, including paint preparation and finishing
- Work punctually and reliably
- Work confidently and independently or as part of a team
About you
- Experience as a shop fitter, carpenter, or in a similar hands-on trade (signage experience is a bonus, not a requirement)
- Confident and accurate use of a tape measure
- Skilled and safe use of hand tools
- Solid attention to detail and the right attitude
- Ability to assess and maintain product quality
- Takes initiative and can work with minimal supervision
- Motivated, with a strong work ethic
- Physically fit and healthy
- Safety conscious
- Current, valid driver's licence – essential
- White Card, or willingness to obtain one – preferable but not essential
- Availability for approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility where required
