About the Opportunity

We are seeking a compassionate, professional and dependable Female Support Worker to join our Canberra team on a casual basis. This opportunity is suited to someone who combines the relevant qualifications and practical skills with excellent interpersonal abilities, empathy and a genuine commitment to supporting older people and people living with disability.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities in accordance with individual care plans.
- Deliver domestic assistance, including cleaning, laundry and general household tasks.
- Support clients with shopping, appointments, transport and community access.
- Encourage social participation, independence and emotional wellbeing through meaningful companionship.
- Monitor and promptly report changes in clients’ health, wellbeing or support requirements.
- Maintain professional communication with clients, families and the wider care team.
- Follow organisational policies, workplace health and safety requirements, and relevant care procedures.
- Participate in required training, meetings and ongoing career development.

Essential Selection Criteria Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Qualifications: Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Disability, Individual Support, Home and Community Care, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- First Aid and CPR: Current certificates are mandatory.
- Driver’s licence:



Current Australian driver’s licence.
- Reliable transport: Access to a reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance.
- Police Check: Current National Police Check.
- Vaccination: Flu vaccination in accordance with role requirements.
- Technology: Access to a smartphone with internet connectivity.
- Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Personal attributes: Empathy, patience, reliability, professionalism, initiative and a strong commitment to client-centred care.
- Experience supporting clients with diverse care needs, including behaviours of concern where appropriate, will be highly regarded.

Shifts are dependent on client requirements, service locations and operational needs, and regular hours are not guaranteed. Pay: $41.50 – $45.30 per hour
