Role Description This is a full-time remote Field Service Technician role, working on-site at customer locations across an assigned region.

The Field Service

Technician is responsible for traveling to appointments, assessing upholstery damage, and performing repairs such as re-stitching seams, fixing recliner mechanisms, replacing foam or springs, and restoring surfaces. Typical day-to-day tasks include communicating with customers, confirming job requirements, preparing and maintaining tools and materials, and documenting work completed. The role also involves troubleshooting issues, providing basic maintenance advice, following safety and quality standards, and coordinating schedules with the central office.



Technicians are expected to manage their own time in the field, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and represent the company in a qualified manner.

Qualifications

- Experience in upholstery repair, furniture restoration, or a related trade (e.g., automotive trimming, carpentry, or handyman work).
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude, including the ability to diagnose and fix recliner mechanisms, frames, and padding issues.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools commonly used in upholstery and general repairs, and a commitment to safe work practices.
- Effective customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain repair options and set clear expectations.
- Reliable time management and organizational skills to plan daily routes, manage appointments, and complete documentation.
- Comfort working independently in the field, including self-motivation and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle suitable for transporting tools and materials.
- Physical ability to lift, move, and work around furniture, including bending, kneeling, and extended standing.
- Attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality workmanship on every job.
- Prior experience in mobile service work and familiarity with basic digital tools (smartphone or tablet) is an advantage.
