About the Role
FDB Commercial Group is looking for a reliable and capable Finance Assistant / Bookkeeper to join the team on a part-time basis during school hours.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys keeping the financial side of a business organised and up to date. You will be responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping and finance administration to ensure transactions, payments, reconciliations and records are accurately maintained.
This is an opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper or finance administrator who enjoys being hands-on, taking ownership of their work and becoming a valued part of a growing Australian business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and finance administration
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Enter and process invoices, purchase orders and payments
- Complete bank and account reconciliations
- Assist with payroll processing and related administration
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Assist with month-end processing and reporting
- Prepare and process BAS information
- Follow up outstanding accounts and payments as required
- Liaise with suppliers and customers regarding finance-related matters
- Assist with general purchasing and finance administration
- Provide support to the external accountants when required
You will ideally bring:
- Previous bookkeeping or finance administration experience
- Experience across accounts payable and receivable
- Good understanding of reconciliations and day-to-day accounting processes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good working knowledge of Xero
- Sound Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Experience with Fishbowl inventory management software would be advantageous
- Experience with payroll and BAS preparation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- A positive, friendly and team-oriented approach
- Common sense, initiative and a willingness to help wherever needed
