At Ivy Kids Early Learning, we’re not just a childcare centre – we’re building a home away from home where every meal fuels curiosity, growth, and joy. As our Childcare Centre Cook, you’ll play a vital role in shaping healthy habits and happy memories for our littlest Ivy Kids.

Who We Are

Family owned and operated, Ivy Kids is a 104 place centre committed to providing quality early learning experiences for families in the vibrant suburb of Glen Waverley. With beautifully designed rooms across two levels and landscaped outdoor play spaces, we're creating a home-away-from-home where children and staff blossom. Our cook will be taking a short 3 month maternity leave and we have a unique opportunity for an early childhood cook to be part of our Ivy Kids Team on a fixed-term part-time contract (Oct 2026 - Jan 2027). You will get the chance to design and cook delicious meals and help us build a vibrant learning community where your ideas, creativity, and expertise will directly influence our children's nutrition and our centre's growth.

Your Recipe for Success:

- Proven experience as a childcare cook preparing varied and nutritious meals for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years
- MUST have experience accommodate various dietary requirements, intolerances and allergies including anaphylaxis.




- You will be required to support and oversee the food safety standards and practices implemented within the centre
- Confidence managing stock control, online orders, and food safety documentation
- Daily diligence with temperature checks, allergy protocols, and hygiene standards as outlined in our Food Safety Program
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
- Excellent organisational and time management skills

- Strong communication skills
- Have an enthusiastic, friendly and respectful attitude and loves being around children

Qualifications Required

- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (desirable but not mandatory)
- Qualifications in Early Childcare Education and Care highly desirable

- Safe Food Handling Certificate
- Current Working with Children Check

- Current Police Check
- First Aid & CPR certification

- Child Protection training
- 2 professional references who have worked with you for at least 12 months
