An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Emergency Medicine Specialist / Staff Specialist / Visiting Medical Officer to join the Emergency Department at Griffith Base Hospital, within the Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD).
This is an opportunity to work within a progressive regional health service, providing high-quality emergency care to a diverse community while contributing to clinical education and the ongoing development of emergency services.
About Murrumbidgee Local Health District Murrumbidgee Local Health District employs more than 3,500 staff across 33 public hospitals, including two Base Hospitals, eight Acute Community Hospitals and 16 Multi-Purpose Services.
MLHD supports approximately 245,000 people across an extensive geographic area of approximately 125,561 square kilometres, spanning southern New South Wales from the Snowy Mountains in the east to the plains of Hillston in the northwest and along the Victorian border.

About Griffith Base Hospital Griffith Base Hospital provides a broad range of specialist services, including both resident and visiting specialists.
Services include:

- Emergency Medicine
- Critical Care
- General Medicine
- General Surgery
- Paediatrics
- Oncology
- Obstetrics
- Respiratory Medicine
- Renal Dialysis
- Hospital in the Home




- Rehabilitation

This provides Emergency Medicine specialists with exposure to a broad range of clinical presentations and access to a diverse range of inpatient and specialist services.
The Opportunity Reporting to the Clinical Director of the Emergency Department, the Staff Specialist / VMO will:

- Provide consultant-level clinical care to Emergency Department patients
- Participate in the consultant on-call roster
- Support optimal patient outcomes through high-quality assessment and management
- Contribute to the education and training activities of the department
- Work collaboratively with medical, nursing and allied health teams
- Contribute to the ongoing development of emergency services within the hospital

About You The successful applicant will be an appropriately qualified Emergency Medicine Specialist with:

- Fellowship of ACEM or equivalent specialist qualifications
- Current or eligibility for registration with AHPRA
- Demonstrated experience in Emergency Medicine
- Ability to provide high-quality consultant-level clinical care
- Commitment to education, training and multidisciplinary teamwork
- Eligibility to work in Australia

Internationally trained Emergency Medicine specialists may also be considered,



subject to Australian specialist recognition and registration requirements.
