An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Perioperative Nurse Manager, NUM or senior nursing leader ready to take the next step into a CEO/Director of Nursing position within a brand-new, state-of-the-art day hospital on the Sunshine Coast.

This is a unique opportunity to be involved in the development and growth of a new 3-theatre surgical facility, helping shape the service from the ground up.

The role would be particularly suited to a hands‑on perioperative leader who enjoys building teams, developing systems and processes, and being actively involved in both the clinical and operational side of a service. You will have the opportunity to help establish the culture, clinical frameworks and day‑to‑day operations of the facility while working closely with surgeons, anaesthetists and senior stakeholders.

The Role

As CEO/Director of Nursing, you will provide overall clinical and operational leadership across the new facility, with the opportunity to play a key role in establishing and growing the service.

The role will include:

- Providing hands‑on clinical and operational leadership
- Managing workforce planning, rostering and staff performance
- Ensuring accreditation, compliance, risk and quality requirements are met
- Working closely with surgeons, specialists and other key stakeholders




- Supporting business development and the ongoing growth of the service
- Being actively involved in the clinical environment and assisting the team when required
- Building a positive and cooperative workplace culture

About You

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Strong perioperative/theatre nursing background
- Previous NUM, ANUM or senior nursing leadership experience
- Strong clinical and operational leadership skills
- Understanding of clinical governance, accreditation, quality and risk
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
