Patane Produce is seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator/Yardman to join our team in Myalup (Southwest). This is a full-time position based in our horticultural operations facility. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods, produce and materials throughout our yard and warehouse environments using forklift equipment & Rigid Trucks.
You will play a crucial part in maintaining our operations' productivity and ensuring that all materials are handled safely and stored appropriately. This position requires someone who is detail-oriented, safety-conscious and committed to supporting our agricultural and horticultural operations.
Key responsibilities
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, stack and store produce, materials and goods throughout the yard and warehouse
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of forklift equipment to ensure they are in safe working condition
- Maintain accurate records of goods movement and inventory within designated storage areas
- Support the organisation and tidiness of the yard and storage facilities to ensure efficient workflow and safe working conditions
- Assist with loading and unloading of produce and materials from delivery vehicles
- Follow all health and safety protocols and comply with workplace safety regulations and company policies
- Communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors to coordinate yard activities
- Report any equipment damage, maintenance issues or safety hazards immediately to management
- Support general yard maintenance tasks as required
What we're looking for
- Current and valid forklift license and Heavy Rigid license.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or horticultural setting
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety practices
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision whilst being a collaborative team player
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions clearly
- Physical fitness and capability to perform manual handling duties safely
- Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic
- Experience in the horticultural or agricultural sector is desirable
- Knowledge of inventory management systems is advantageous
