Role purpose:To maintain a clean, organised, well-stocked and customer-friendly store while ensuring fresh produce and grocery products are handled, rotated and presented correctly.

Key duties and responsibilities:

- Provide friendly and professional customer service.
- Assist customers with locating products, prices and general enquiries.
- Receive deliveries and check stock against invoices/delivery documents.
- Unpack, price and replenish grocery and fresh produce throughout the day.
- Rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) and check expiry/best-before dates.
- Regularly inspect fruit and vegetables and remove damaged, mouldy, bruised or spoiled produce.
- Keep produce displays full, neat and visually appealing.
- Correctly store refrigerated, frozen, dry and fresh products.
- Maintain clean shelves, fridges, freezers, displays, counters and storage areas.
- Sweep, mop, remove rubbish and complete allocated cleaning duties.
- Keep aisles clear and immediately address spills or other safety hazards.
- Ensure heavier products are stored safely and appropriately.
- Assist with stocktakes and report low-stock or out-of-stock products.
- Check product labels and pricing and report discrepancies.
- Operate the POS/register and handle payments where required.
- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures.




- Complete opening and/or closing duties when rostered.
- Complete assigned daily and weekly checklists.
- Work efficiently without needing constant supervision.
- Communicate respectfully with management, coworkers, suppliers and customers.

Employee expectations:Staff must be punctual, reliable and ready to begin work at their rostered start time. Employees are expected to maintain a clean and professional appearance, follow reasonable management instructions, complete allocated tasks within the required timeframe, use phones only as permitted during working hours, work cooperatively with the team, report problems promptly and take responsibility for maintaining their allocated areas. Physical requirements:The position involves standing and walking for extended periods, bending and reaching, moving cartons and stock, working around refrigerated/freezer areas and safely lifting reasonable loads in accordance with workplace procedures.

Preferred skills/qualities:Previous grocery, supermarket, fruit shop or retail experience is helpful but not essential. The ideal employee is reliable, hardworking, organised, physically capable, attentive to detail, comfortable working in a fast-paced setting and able to provide good customer service.

Pay: $27.81 per hour
