This is a full time position for a practical and reliable Diesel Fitter / Mechanic to join the mineral sands operation on King Island, Tasmania. The role involves hands-on experience maintaining and repairing diesel-powered machinery, mobile plant and site equipment. FIFO arrangements may be available for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities
- Routine servicing and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults
- Breakdown repairs as required
- General maintenance of mobile plant and site equipment
- Identifying potential mechanical issues before they become breakdowns
- Working safely and independently on site
About you
- Hands-on experience with diesel engines, heavy vehicles, earthmoving, agricultural or mining equipment preferred
- Relevant trade qualifications are an advantage, but not essential
- Good mechanical and fault-finding skills
- Practical, reliable and able to work independently
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
- Current driver licence preferred
