Hume Doors & Timber is seeking a General Factory Hand to join our team on a casual basis for the afternoon shift (11.30am to 8.15pm) This role offers the perfect opportunity to become part of a dynamic manufacturing and distribution operation in the door and timber industry. Based in Dandenong South, VIC 3175, you will be working in a fast-paced warehouse and factory environment where your contributions directly support our production and distribution operations. This is an ideal position for individuals seeking flexible, casual work with the potential for ongoing shifts.
Key responsibilities
- Operating and maintaining factory equipment and machinery in accordance with safety protocols and standard operating procedures
- Packaging door and timber products for distribution
- Handling, storing and organizing materials and finished products within the warehouse environment
- Performing quality control checks on products to ensure they meet company standards
- Maintaining a clean, organised and secure work environment, including housekeeping duties
- Following all health and safety regulations and reporting any incidents or hazards immediately
- Contributing to team objectives and assisting colleagues as required
- Adhering to production targets and timelines
What we're looking for
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform repetitive manual tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy items
- Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to commit to afternoon shift schedules
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to follow instructions and adhere to company policies and procedures
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills
- Previous warehouse, factory or manufacturing experience (preferred but not essential)
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain it (desirable)
- Attention to detail and quality awareness
