Impact Lawns & Gardens is a small business social enterprise run through Younity Community Services, a not-for-profit based in Deception Bay. The business maintains grounds for schools, community organisations, commercial sites and NDIS participants across Moreton Bay, and the money it earns goes back into Younity's services.

About the role

We're looking for a Team Leader to run Impact Lawns & Gardens day to day. You'll be on the tools most days, leading a small crew and keeping our current contracts to a high standard. You'll also quote jobs, look after clients and go after new work. If you've ever thought about running your own lawn and garden business, this role lets you build one with the trailer, equipment and client base already in place. You'll have support from our Head of Impact Ventures and our facilities team, and we want your ideas on how the business grows.

Part of the job is working with trainees and young people who are learning their first work skills, so you'll need patience and be happy to teach.

What you'll be doing

- Leading and mentoring a small crew on site each day, setting the work and making sure the job is done right
- Planning the weekly schedule and allocating the crew to jobs
- Mowing, brush cutting, hedging, pruning, weed control and general grounds maintenance across school, commercial, community and NDIS sites
- Quoting jobs, building relationships with clients and following up new work
- Managing jobs, time and invoicing in ServiceM8
- Making sure site safety paperwork, pre-starts and traffic controls are done properly




- Delivering NDIS jobs within each participant's service agreement

What you'll bring

- Proven experience in commercial grounds or lawn maintenance, including zero-turn mowing and brush cutting.
- Experience leading or supervising a team, formally or informally.
- Current manual driver licence and experience towing a trailer.
- Construction White Card.
- Current Queensland Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or the ability to obtain both (we can support you to apply).
- Confidence talking with clients, taking a brief and following up on a quote.
- Comfort with basic technology, including a job management app (ServiceM8) on a phone or tablet.
- An interest in helping young people and job seekers learn and succeed at work.
- Working knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements for grounds maintenance in Queensland.
- Valuable commercial sense, including planning work runs so jobs stay profitable.

It would help if you also have an ACDC licence, a Cert III in Horticulture or similar, or some experience with ServiceM8, quoting or running a small business. None of these are essential.
