We are looking for a passionate, organised and motivated Head Chef to lead the kitchen of our established hospitality venue in Subiaco.

Our venue is currently undergoing an exciting transformation from Refuge Small Bar into our new Italian concept, ALLATUA, and we are looking for the right person to help lead this next chapter.

This role would suit either an experienced Head Chef or a strong Sous Chef / Senior Sous Chef who is ready to step up and take ownership of their first kitchen.

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, including leading the team, maintaining food quality and consistency, managing prep and service, ordering, stock control, food costing, wastage management, food safety and kitchen cleanliness.

You will work closely with the owners and management team and will have the opportunity to contribute to menu development, kitchen systems and the overall food direction of ALLATUA.

We are looking for someone who:

- Has strong experience as a Sous Chef, Senior Sous Chef or Head Chef
- Is confident running a busy kitchen and service




- Is organised and able to manage prep effectively
- Has robust knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance
- Understands food cost, stock control and wastage
- Communicates well with both BOH and FOH teams
- Is calm and professional under pressure
- Is able to train, support and motivate a small kitchen team
- Takes pride in consistency, presentation and kitchen standards
- Is reliable, hands-on and willing to lead by example

Previous Head Chef experience is preferred but not essential. We are particularly interested in hearing from experienced Sous Chefs who feel ready to take the next step in their career. We offer a salary of $70,000–$80,000 + super, depending on experience, along with the opportunity to take ownership of the kitchen and play an important role in the launch and development of ALLATUA.

Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
