Offshore, Mining & Civil Pty Ltd is a specialist contractor delivering maintenance, shutdown and project support services across the mining and civil sectors throughout Australia. We support major resource and infrastructure projects with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and operational performance. Due to continued growth, we are seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic and Heavy Diesel Fitters to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Inspect, diagnose, service, maintain, and repair diesel engines, heavy vehicles, and mobile plant equipment.
- Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on trucks, earthmoving machinery, and other diesel-powered equipment.
- Carry out mechanical repairs and overhauls to engines, transmissions, braking, steering, hydraulic, pneumatic, and associated mechanical systems.
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, manuals, and equipment schematics to determine appropriate repair, fitting, assembly, and maintenance procedures.
- Fabricate, fit, modify, and assemble mechanical components, metal parts, and subassemblies for heavy vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
- Use precision measuring equipment to check component dimensions, tolerances, clearances, alignment, and fit during repair and assembly work.
- Set up and operate appropriate workshop machinery and tools to cut, drill, grind, bore, shape, thread, and modify metal components as required.
- Install, replace, repair, and modify hydraulic and pneumatic pipes, hoses, fittings, and associated fluid power components.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical faults using diagnostic equipment, testing methods, and technical information.
- Repair, replace, or manufacture components and parts where required to restore machinery and equipment to safe operating condition.
- Conduct breakdown repairs, equipment overhauls, and operational maintenance in workshop,



field, mining, and civil project environments.
- Assist with the installation, assembly, alignment, commissioning, and relocation of machinery and mechanical equipment on site.
- Maintain accurate service records, job cards, inspection reports, and maintenance documentation.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements, manufacturer specifications, engineering standards, and company procedures.

Key Requirements:

- Relevant trade qualification as Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Diesel Fitter
- Minimum three years’ post-qualification experience in diesel mechanical maintenance, repair, fitting, and equipment servicing.
- Strong experience working on diesel engines, heavy vehicles, mobile plant, and mechanical equipment
- Ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
- Experience with mechanical fitting, component assembly, precision measurement, machining, and modification of mechanical parts.
- Ability to work in remote, mining, and civil site environments
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety procedures
- Current driver licence (HR licence desirable but not essential)
