An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced HR Business Partner to join a large and established retail organisation based in Melbourne’s South East.
About The Role:
Reporting into Senior People & Culture leadership, you will manage a designated portfolio and act as a trusted HR partner to leaders across the business.
Working as part of a collaborative People & Culture team, you will partner closely with operational and senior leaders across a fast-paced, multi-site retail environment.
This is a true business partnering position, combining strategic HR advice with hands-on employee relations, performance, workforce planning and people initiatives.
You will be joining an organisation with a sizeable workforce and an established HR structure, offering the chance to influence leaders, improve people capability and contribute to broader People & Culture initiatives.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Partnering with senior leaders and operational managers across a multi-site retail portfolio.
- Providing practical and commercially focused HR advice across the full employee lifecycle.
- Managing complex employee relations matters including performance management, misconduct, grievances, investigations and disciplinary processes.
- Coaching leaders to build capability and confidence in managing their teams.
- Supporting organisational change, restructures and workforce planning initiatives.
- Partnering with leaders on talent, succession planning and employee development.
- Supporting performance and remuneration review processes.
- Identifying workforce trends and providing insights around turnover, engagement, absenteeism and retention.
- Supporting employee engagement, culture and wellbeing initiatives.
- Ensuring HR practices remain compliant with employment legislation, Modern Awards, policies and procedures.
- Contributing to broader People & Culture projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You: You will be an experienced HR professional who enjoys working closely with operational leaders and understands the pace and complexity of a large retail environment.
Ideally, you will bring:
- Previous experience as an HR Business Partner, Senior HR Advisor or equivalent.
- Experience within Retail, FMCG, Manufacturing & Logistics
- Strong employee relations and performance management experience.
- Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation and Modern Awards.
- Experience partnering with operational and senior leadership teams.
- Strong coaching, influencing and stakeholder management capability.
- A commercial and pragmatic approach to HR.
- The ability to balance strategic priorities with hands-on operational HR requirements.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to navigate challenging conversations.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline.
