The role
We’re seeking an experienced Vinyl Applicator to join our Art Department at our up-to-date sign manufacturing facility in Bulimba. This hands‑on role suits someone who understands the full journey of a job, from artwork file to finished install.
You’ll apply vinyl across a diverse array of bespoke signage projects, and your eye for design will help catch artwork and production issues before they reach the substrate.
What you’ll be doing
- Applying self-adhesive vinyl to a range of substrates with precision and attention to detail
- Weeding, assembly and lay‑up of cut vinyl graphics
- Laminating and applying large-format printed graphics
- Hand knife and stencil cutting for custom graphics
- Liaising with clients and project managers on install details, timing and finish
- Quality control checks to ensure flawless finishes on small- and large-format work
What we’re looking for
Essential
- Minimum 2-3 years of vinyl application experience in a commercial signage or vehicle wrap environment (business owners and sole traders welcome)
- Hands‑on experience with, signage and large-format graphics
- Working knowledge of vinyl types (cast, calendered, specialty films) and when to use each
- Proven ability to work independently and manage your own workload with minimal supervision
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced production environment
Highly regarded
- Experience with 3M or other premium vinyl and wrap films
- Graphic design qualification or background (e.g. Diploma of Graphic Design)
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign for artwork preparation
- Knowledge of print production workflows
- Familiarity with vinyl plotters and associated software
- Experience in client liaison, quoting or project management
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings
- Calm under pressure and a clear communicator
