Upholsterer — Part Time, 24 Hours | Cromer, Northern Beaches

Playtec designs and builds commercial indoor playground equipment for shopping centres, pubs and clubs. Everything is made in our Cromer factory.

We're looking for an upholsterer to join our small team part time, working alongside our current upholsterer.

The role

You'll make the soft components that go into our playgrounds — padded panels, vinyl-covered foam shapes, soft play blocks and protective padding. Hands-on, varied work: cutting and sewing heavy-duty vinyl, shaping foam to pattern, and fitting finished pieces to steel and timber frames.

24 hours a week — No overtime, no weekend work.

You'll be trained by our existing upholsterer, so you'll have someone experienced beside you while you learn how we do things.

What you'll be doing

- Cutting and sewing heavy-duty vinyl and PVC-coated fabrics
- Measuring, cutting and shaping foam to pattern
- Making and fitting padded panels and soft play components
- Working from drawings, patterns and cutting lists
- Keeping materials and your work area in order

What we're looking for

- Hands-on experience in upholstery, auto trim, marine trim, canvas and covers, or industrial sewing
- Comfortable on industrial walking-foot machines, or quick to pick them up
- Accurate measuring and cutting — our products have to meet Australian playground safety standards, so finish and consistency matter
- Reliable, and able to work steadily to a production schedule
- Australian work rights

Playground experience isn't required. If you've trimmed cars or boats, made awnings or covers, or worked in furniture upholstery, the skills carry across and we'll teach you the rest.

What we offer

- $33–$36 per hour depending on experience, with room to move the sooner you take on the work independently
- flexibility to set days and set hours so you can plan your week around
- A small, secure team and work that's finished when you walk out the door

Pay: $32.00 – $36.00 per hour Expected hours: 24.0 per week

Work Location: In person
